Hamilton School District established an Enrichment Model Gifted and Talented Program over 20 years ago. Current best-practices in gifted education form Hamilton School District’s current Enrichment Program. Utilizing  a tiered system for service delivery, the Spectra program is a unique and comprehensive K-8 Enrichment Program. Whole class enrichment services are provided  to all students in Kindergarten-5th grade. Formal identification occurs in 3rd grade. Identified students have the opportunity for weekly in-depth study .  In addition, specialized experiences are provided periodically for students in their area of academic strength.  Exploratory classes and multi-age Independent Studies are the basis of the Middle School Program.
