Mrs. Kristine Dandy
Many of you probably know me as one of Daly's seccond grade teachers, but last year I moved to fourth grade. This will be my seventh year with the Hamilton School District. Prior to that, I was an elementary teacher in Michigan for 23 years. I have taught students in first through fifth grades. I am excited to teach fourth grade because growing up that was one of my most memorable years in elementary school. It was the year I had my first male teacher, Mr. Hayes, and I met my best friend whom I grew up with throughout the rest of my school career (she even ended up being my college roommate and we were in each other's weddings), and for passing all of my multiplication fact tests that year, my teacher took me to the local ice cream parlor (I can still almost taste that delicious hot fudge sundae today)! I can't wait to make your fourth grade year as fun as mine was as we dig into Montana history, continue to work on our writing skills, read some terrific novels, review our math facts, learn about fractions, and much, much more.
On a personal note, I grew up in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan in the town of Grayling. I graduated from Grayling High School in 1984. I attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with minors in both math and science. Later, I obtained my Early Chidhood Endorsement from Central Michigan University. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Brian, for 30 years. We have three magnificent boys: Brent, Caleb, and Connor. As a family we enjoy camping, swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking, bike riding, and playing disc golf.
