Hello Sixth grade parents and students! My name is Stephanie DeBiasio (say Dee-Bee-ah-see-oh), a mouthful I know, and I teach Physical Science. I also like to be called “Ms. D” because it is quicker, easier and I like to own the whole letter! I have lived in Montana since 2005 and started my teaching career in Big Sky, MT in 2011 at Ophir Middle School. I began teaching at Hamilton Middle School in 2014. I am very excited for a year of learning, challenges and fun in this beautiful valley!
I graduated from Montana State University in August 2014 with my Masters in Education, Curriculum and Instruction. My science background includes my degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida and two years of research in the Alaskan tundra studying ecosystem interactions. I am a naturally inquisitive person and I am looking forward to passing that on to my students.
My hobbies include skiing, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, reading and cooking.
I believe that students learn best when they have the chance to explore and manipulate the world around them in an active classroom setting. With so much to learn this year, it will be important to learn and practice good study habits, be prepared for class, follow instructions carefully and above all to have a can-do attitude!
I look forward to a great year! Go Colts!
