Dear Families,

Welcome to second grade! My name is Ms. Pam Folz, some of you may know as Mrs. McGouldrick. I am so excited to be a part of the Second Grade Team. Most importantly, I am thrilled to be your teacher! It’s going to be a great year full of new friends, new adventures, and new discoveries! I want to learn all about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me. This will be my seventh year teaching second grade.  I’ve taught first grade for 16 years.  I have 3 wonderful children, my oldest, Maquala, graduated from Hamilton, is an EMT and will be attending the University of Montana.  Katye will be a Senior at Hamilton High and senioritis already.  My son A.J. will be a 8th grader at Hamilton Middle School.  I am very proud of all three of them.  Our summer was filled with swimteam, soccer, floating rivers all over the state, camping and a week at the ocean.  I love to read, laugh, cook, bake and spend time with my kids.  So be ready forlearning, fun and baking.

My ultimate goal for this year is for each of my students to succeed and to become independent and responsible learners.

In second grade, student learning is a team effort. I want us to work together in order to have a progressive year with your child. Please be sure to check your child’s Take Home folder every night. This will include any homework assignments, newsletters and corrected work. Our class will use a colored “clip chart” to monitor our behavior and classroom choices. This is a positive way to have students make wise decisions and will give them behavior goals to strive for. If you ever have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to email me or call me at your convenience,  Daly 363-2122, cell 406-381-1707, folzp@hsd3.org.  I also do Remind.  If you would like to be included please enter 81010 and enter this in the message line @mspfolz. Thank you

I truly believe that when a teacher and a parent communicate on a regular basis regarding their child, their child has a more successful school year. If you have any information about your child that you believe I should know please feel free to contact me.  The more I know about your child the better I can accommodate and effectively meet their needs. I enjoy and believe it is important to make parents aware of the positive choices your child has made. I do this through phone calls, notes, postcards, e mails or texts.

I can’t wait to hear about all the wonderful and exciting things you did this summer.

School starts Tuesday September 4th at 8:15.

Let’s all work together to make this the best year ever!

Sincerely,

Ms. Pam Folz
