Elvira is Hamilton High School's classroom skeleton. She got to take a relocation adventure between being used as a prop for the Bitterroot Polytech's Wilderness First Aid course and going back to her home in Ms. Antonioli's anatomy classroom.

We had 8 Bitterroot Polytech students participate in a 2-day wilderness first aid safety and CPR training at the end of April. They were awarded certificates from AERIE Backcountry Medicine. In addition to CPR, they learned the basics of wound management, splinting, patient assessment, improvised care and management of hot & cold emergencies in the outdoors.

Bitterroot Polytech Charter School and Hamilton High School students attended a forklift safety and theory course yesterday morning with the Montana Building Industry Association (MBIA) Grip Safety instructor Monty Jensen. They then had the opportunity to visit Pigman Builders' yard to see a telehandler forklift in person. Students were able to directly apply some of the classroom material to the field experience. A special THANK YOU to Pigman Builders for their partnership in this program and for hosting our students! This is a great example of how the Hamilton School District is giving our students real world experiences & opportunities that prepare them for the workforce! Go Broncs!

Accelerate Montana was here on Monday and Tuesday to complete a shed build with ten of our Alternative Learning Center (ALC) students. Students received two days of hands-on instruction while building their own shed from start to finish. Prior to building the shed, the students completed 30 hours of online training, and all students who participated earned a micro-credential certifying the completion of the program.
We went to the Build Montana Heavy Equipment Pop Up on Wednesday with some HHS construction trades students and some Polytech ALC students (some of the same ALC students who completed the shed build). This event was hosted by the Montana Contractors Association and gave students the opportunity to explore trades careers and get some hands-on experience operating heavy equipment.
