The 2023 HMS Science Fair took place on Tuesday. A big shout out to the 51 students who took part in this event for their hard work. Special thanks to Ms. Roberts and Mr. Barcus for their leadership in guiding their students throughout the process, and to the 19 judges who volunteered their time.

Hello! My name is Kylie Berk, and I'm a senior at Hamilton High School. This self portrait, entitled, "Hath God Really Said?" is a parallel to the Garden of Eden. Done in colored pencil, it features an unidentifiable cottonmouth and excludes the famously symbolic fruit of the Fall to portray my experiences of recurring doubt and combatant faith that I have been exploring in my portfolio this year. To me, art is life. A portrait of humanity, a glimpse of our turmoil and the order within it... art is both the vessel and the potter, and I believe every form of art is as beautiful as it is insightful. As Robin Williams once said, "Medicine, law, business, engineering... these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love... these are what we stay alive for."

The Hamilton Middle School sixth grade choir, along with the seventh/eighth choir were in Polson on Friday participating in the Montana Youth Sing. Fourteen schools from western Montana took part in this outstanding program. Special thanks to HMS choir teacher, Ruth Reneau, for all her work in preparing her students for this fantastic opportunity!
